Movie Review : Eklavya

"Ek to now you are coming with the Business Plan". That was my CEO.
"Yes. I have the business plan". Thats all I could say.
"Thats my point."
"Mine too."
"Arrey, you were supposed to hand this to me by 11 am". He was still not angry.
"Oh, were we?" Somehow, I always miss to hear about the deadlines. That I miss the deadlines too should be quite evident. Its directly derivable form the last statement. It was 7 pm. I was more than 8 hours late.

I have been working on this the entire night.(and also the entire day, today) And now, badly needed an escape. I wanted to watch Eklavya. Too much peole have said three much about it, making it an apt cause for a foursome to go for it. However, I could manage only two more, so, it was a threesome. My review ? Read on.

The credits were rolling. Midhun said the movie was over. Not that I thought otherwise. I movie was over. For sure. But the experience wasn't. I sat there, completely sunken in the imagery of the movie and aura of Mr. Bachchan. It was sheer poetry. There is no other way to describe this movie. Brilliant executon. Crisp editing. Riveting performances. Stunning visuals. And Sexy execution. Hats off to you Mr. Chopra.

From the first frame, you know that this one is going to be a visual treat. And treat it sure emerges as. The very first scene, Boman Irani with Sharmeela Tagore gives you a glimpse of what lies ahead. Soon after the scene where Saif comes form London and meets Mr. Bachchan is handeled superbly. Note the performances, the direction and the camerawork. Not a word is spoken. Everything is expressed.

The camera work is breathtaking. Simply superb. The camera itself has a distinct character of itself. The closeups. The scenic Rajasthan. The zoom outs. All masterly strokes.

And in the end, it has to be about Mr. Bachchan. In a towering performances, he shines. I now wonder what can I say about him that I had not said already. Mr. Bachchan in Eklavya is mesmerising, if that can capture the mood correctly.

An absolute must-watch.

i think..people hve grown to a certain level where they admire fans more than their character !!

For me Eklavya is

* a brave attempt
* shaky plot
* average acting
* short & quick
* finally, not near an international std.
